Hidden Trastevere

After being picked up by private vans from the hotel the tour starts with a visit to Villa Farnesina.
This place is particularly famous for the magnificent mythical wall and ceiling paintings by famous painters such as Raphael.

Afterwards a short walk takes us directly to the Botanical Garden (Orto Botanico). Here we are away from the hustle and bustle, on one of Rome's hills, the Gianicolo, from where we will enjoy a wonderful view over the city and you will see the Aqua Paola fountain.

Then we will discover the prominent Trastevere district where you will not only get to know the history of Trastevere, but also the beauty of the historic district. We stroll through the narrow alleyways, across idyllic squares, past the beautiful architecture.

After the guided tour ended, you may stay in the city for individual activities - therefore transfer back to the hotel is not included.

Price per person: € 75
including Private Van Transfer, Tickets (Villa Farnesina, Orto Botanico) and a Coffee Break

Saturday Networking Tour

The Rome of the Romans & The Classic Colosseum

A 20-30 minutes bus drive will bring us to the Testaccio weekly market for a 1 hour lunch break enjoying a typical food tour at the authentic food market of Testaccio.

Nothing puts you more in touch with the Roman culture than the Testaccio market, with its captivating characters, colors and sounds. In small groups of 8 to 12 people we meet the families running these stalls and learn how to eat and shop like a local. We will try different roman street food dishes.

After lunch we start our walking tour in two groups of max 25 people. We will discover more about the 'belly' of Testaccio district unveiling a secret gem of the city and see the Monte Testaccio, a hill made out of heap of potsherds, fragments of amphorae used for transporting goods, which until the mid-3rd century AD were periodically unloaded and accumulated in this place after being emptied in the adjacent River Harbor.

We will see the only ancient pyramid in Rome up on the Aventine Hill with the famous keyhole and a view of the dome of St. Peter's Basilica. The route continues past the Circus Maximus on a direct path to the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater of the ancient world.
Splitted again in smaller groups we will learn about a typical day back then, how gladiators were trained and much more.
